Privacy Policy

Meta Ads Enhancements Disabler ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps advertisers turn off Meta's Advantage+ creative enhancements with one click. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data the extension touches, where it lives, and what we do (and do not) send anywhere.
The short version
- No data ever leaves your browser.
- No analytics, telemetry, or third-party scripts.
- No accounts, no login, no servers behind the extension.
- Settings + history are stored locally in Chrome's sync/local storage so they survive across your devices when you're signed into Chrome.
What the extension stores
The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local) to remember:
- Settings — which categories you want disabled, your theme preference (light/dark/auto), whether auto-run is on.
- Per-account locks — categories you've locked for a specific ad account so bulk runs don't touch them.
- Recent history — a short log of the last N runs (timestamps, counts) shown in the popup's Stats tab.
- Unmatched labels — names of toggles the extension noticed but didn't recognize, so a future update can add them.
- Undo snapshots — a temporary 60-second snapshot of the previous state so you can revert a run.
All of the above is stored exclusively in Chrome's storage on your local device. Nothing is transmitted to any external server, by us or by anyone else.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not collect personal data (name, email, ad account IDs are not stored or sent anywhere).
- It does not collect the content of your ads (creative text, images, audience details, budgets).
- It does not use Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, or any tracking library.
- It does not load any third-party scripts.
- It does not contact any server we operate. There is no backend.
Permissions explained
The extension requests these Chrome permissions, and uses them only for the purposes listed:
storage— read/write the settings + history described above.activeTab— read the current tab to know which Meta Ads Manager URL is open.scripting— inject the disable logic into Meta Ads Manager pages.notifications— show a small badge / toast when a run finishes.-
Host permissions (
adsmanager.facebook.com,business.facebook.com, Facebook Ads Manager URLs) — needed for the extension to read and click toggles inside those pages. It does not run on any other website.
Cookies
The extension itself sets no cookies and reads no cookies. Meta's Ads Manager pages set their own cookies as usual — those are not under the extension's control.
External services
The only outbound link the extension renders is the optional Buy me a coffee button, which opens Ko-fi in a new tab when you click it. Ko-fi has its own privacy policy. The extension does not send Ko-fi any information about you — clicking the button is a normal browser navigation.
Children
The extension is a productivity tool for adult advertisers. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy materially (for example, adding a paid tier that uses an external payment processor), the "Last updated" date above will change and we'll post a notice in the extension popup before the change takes effect.
